A Clear Path Forward
If you’re trying to break free from patterns of pornography or sexual behaviors that feel increasingly out of control, you’re not alone.
The 9th Inning Project helps men move forward through one-on-one coaching, supportive recovery groups, and a clear, structured path to change.
Real recovery begins with honesty, the right support, and a plan that actually works.

Why So Many Men Struggle with Pornography and Sexual Addiction
What begins as a private habit can quietly grow into a struggle that affects far more than expected.
What starts small rarely stays small. For many men, pornography begins as something private and manageable, often rooted in early experiences they didn’t fully understand at the time.

Over time, those patterns can grow into something harder to control—affecting relationships, integrity, and the life they’re trying to build. What feels contained in the beginning can quietly expand, and most men facing this find themselves dealing with it alone.
If You’ve Been Asking These Questions, You’re Not Alone
You’re not the only one wrestling with this, and these questions are more common than you think.
Most men who find their way here are asking the same questions, often quietly and without knowing where to turn for honest answers:

-
Why can’t I stop?
-
Is this actually addiction?
-
Why do I keep going back even when I want to quit?
-
Those questions matter. They’re often the first sign that something deeper is going on.

Is This Becoming a Problem?
If you’re asking that question, it’s worth paying attention.
-
You’ve tried to stop and can’t
-
You’re keeping it hidden and living a double life
-
You feel the shame afterward and still go back
-
You’re crossing lines you once said you never would
-
It’s starting to cost you time, money, or energy
-
It’s affecting your focus, your work, or your relationships

How We Help

1 on 1 Coaching
Focused support for men who want a clear plan and someone walking with them through it.
You are not working with someone who only understands this in theory, but someone who has lived it and knows what it takes to change.
Whether you are early in the struggle or dealing with more established patterns, we meet you where you are.
What Actually Works
Willpower matters. But if willpower were enough, you would already be free.
Real recovery begins when you stop trying to manage this alone and start building something different. At 9th Inning Project, we help men put three things in place: a coach, a plan, and a team.

This is where change actually begins.
And it is where your life can start moving in a new direction.
The Coach
Left on your own, you will miss what keeps pulling you back.
You need someone who can see what you cannot and say what others will not.
A coach helps you identify patterns, interrupt them in real time, and stay consistent when things get difficult.
This is not just support.
It is direction, accountability, and honest conversation.
The Plan
Change does not happen by accident.
Recovery requires a clear plan that defines what you are working toward—and what to do when temptation shows up.
We build a structured approach, often beginning with a 90-day framework, that helps you:
-
Recognize triggers
-
Interrupt patterns
-
Make different decisions in the moments that matter
This is built into your daily life—
not something you think about after the fact.
The Team
Lasting change does not happen in isolation.
You need other men who know your story, ask real questions, and do not let you disappear back into secrecy.
Recovery grows through:
-
Honest brotherhood
-
Consistent practices
-
A growing relationship with Jesus Christ
This is where real, lasting change takes root.

Meet Your Coach
You don’t have to walk this road alone.
Brian Shillingburg is the founder of 9th Inning Project and a certified Sexual Addiction Recovery Coach (PSAP Candidate I).

He holds a master’s degree in education and spent more than 25 years developing leaders, building teams, and serving as a high school principal.

But Brian’s story is not just professional.

At one point, Brian was arrested in a public prostitution sting. As a high school principal, his mugshot and story were broadcast across Houston on the evening news, shared online, and known throughout his community.

What had been hidden was suddenly exposed. Completely.

There was no controlling it. No managing the outcome.
That moment forced a decision.

Not to protect his image, but to face what was real and begin rebuilding his life from the ground up.

Brian has walked through addiction, exposure, and recovery himself. He understands what drives these patterns and what it takes to break them.

Today, he helps men do the same.

Through one-on-one coaching, small groups, and work with churches and leaders, he provides clear structure, real accountability, and a path toward healing, restoration, and lasting freedom.
